SUMMER 2016

The international launch Summer issue of Designed Magazine is now out, with a unique combination of interiors, fashion and luxury lifestyle.

Our cover photoshoot is a modern take on fairy tales set in the historic Cliveden House Hotel in the beautiful English countryside near Windsor. Cliveden has been described as a place of ‘secrecy, conspiracy and opulence’, with a history of scandal and intrigue – from catalyst for the greatest British political scandal when John Profumo spied Christine Keeler skinny dipping in the hotel pool... to love nest for dukes and their mistresses. The costumes for Cinderella, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and Rumplestiltskin’s miller’s daughter spinning gold from straw used only furnishing fabrics, trims and curtain tassels from top fabric houses, and accessories from Christian Louboutin, and Charlotte Olympia – who provided the glass slipper created for last year’s Disney blockbuster.

We showcase the top retail, hospitality and residential interiors from around the world, and in this issue we cover Ian Schrager’s latest empire, EDITION hotels; profile London-based retail and restaurant design supremos Shed; visit the Oceanside house designed by Dorothee Junkin; and interview London-based Shalini Misra, Australian designer Greg Natale, and Paris-based architect Elliott Barnes.

The Summer issue also features interiors and lifestyle collections inspired by the latest catwalk looks, the most elegant dressing tables – accessorised by Linley, Crème de la Mer and Lalique, ‘olfactory confessions’ – perfumes like you’ve never seen or smelled before from French duo Liquides Imaginaires… and much more!
